Through the use of metallic fabrics, feathered additions to a traditional veil and extension in beading and lace, current wedding dress trends can capitalize on previous popular fashions while still offering up something new. Some dress markers are even incorporating a touch of black or suggest incorporating fresh flowers onto bridal dresses in order to set their designs apart from others.

Getting the ideal look for any bridge is a complex process as she is faced with a wide variety of choices. Dress makers have added a 1950′s look to the wedding pieces they are now producing in an effort to bring back trends from this decade. They incorporate a liberal use of flowers to add depth to the look whilst keeping the traditional fifties dress style. Strapless silhouette dresses also continue to remain popular with brides for their shapely appearance on slender women.

A more regal approach is being seen in a number of high fashion wedding dresses, drawing inspiration from the fabulous ballroom gowns that are often seen. Ballroom gown style wedding dresses help to disguise the lower half of the body, while giving a more shapely appearance to the upper torso. These gowns can be found with intricate beading patterns or lacey additions for that extra wow factor. A variation of the ballroom gown are the tea-length wedding dresses. Accentuating a brides footwear and offering a more casual look, the tea-wedding gown is a less traditional look but is becoming increasingly popular as brides seek to expand from traditional looks.

A change in the fabrics being used in wedding dresses is also appearing to have an influence a number of gowns of established popularity. The Grecian style wedding dress is a new style that provides a bride with a light and airy design She benefits from a perceived natural grace that traditional Greeks have been renowned for. Employing metallic fabrics in mermaid style dresses is another popular trend that we will see in wedding dress designs over the next year. These fabrics give a real focus to the elegant design of the dress that any bride will be happy to wear.

The traditional veil is out, with the aptly named ‘birdcage veil’ now making a trend for brides. These birdcage style veils have improved on initial versions that often made the bride appear like a birds nest, with the combination of a jeweled clip or feathered headpiece covering the face to provide an excellent vintage look. These veils are glamorous and provide an air of drama for a bride on her wedding day.
