Kevin CarterĀ“s life …
Kevin Carter“s life and death will always intrigue people everywhere. It makes us think about human nature, politics, personal drama and so. Besides the documentaries about him and and the bang-bang club, I hope someone produces a non-hollywood-schema movie, someone like Michael Winterbottom.

Maybe by taking …
Maybe by taking that photo he helped hundreds if not thousands of starving children. I know its hard to accept but that photo saved lives. Too bad Kevin had to pay the ultimate price for it.

His suicide note …
His suicide note said: I am depressed … without phone … money for rent … money for child support … money for debts … money!!! … I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain … of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners…I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky..

if you think about …
if you think about it, it wasn’t really his responsibility to help the child. the rest of us on earth should point the fingers at ourselves for allowing the situation to happen in the first place, instead of expecting one person to change it when they didn’t even cause it.

For the full story …
For the full story on Ken Carter and his group of photographer friends, get the book called “The Bang Bang Club”. It deals in detail with just that question… and I think you could say that people asking him that question all the time is ONE of the reasons he committed suicide.
